Industrial engraving: unalterable markings

For manufacturers looking for unalterable and robust marking on metal or plastic, the Sertip Group masters several engraving processes: chemical, mechanical and laser.

Une expertise adaptée à tous vos besoins

Expertise tailored to all your needs

Chemical etching

  1. Tone-on-tone engraving of stainless steel: Chemical etching is used to mark the surface of stainless steel. In order for this marking to be selective, a temporary saving ink is applied in screen printing to mask the areas to be preserved. Chemical etching is then made, then this saving is removed. The part is then imprinted with a marking tone on tone. The recessed areas can optionally be filled with colored inks.
  2.  Engraving of copper circuits for HMIs: Chemical etching can reveal tracks on a copper flex, about screen printing savings. This industrial process is mastered internally and allows the fitting of a flexible membrane keyboard operating in a hostile environment. The copper circuit of this very high-end HMI guarantees the keyboard electronics, with low impedance levels, the component being fixed by a refund process.

Mechanical engraving

Mechanical engraving allows for durable, raised marking of plastic or metal. The material is milled into a groove, which can then be filled with ink. This technique is used to create control panels, dials, rulers, synoptic panels, nameplates, etc.

Laser engraving

Laser engraving offers a wide variety of possibilities on the plastics, metals or of the glass. Our various laser machines allow:

  • To remove surface material, or even to remove a layer of a multi-layer material
  • To modify the surface color and therefore to make direct marking
  • To cut the material

Laser engraving is the technique of choice for making markings accurate, permanent and contactless. This industrial process allows you to personalize your parts individually, to add barcodes or data matrix…
